Fourth grade students in Mrs. Murray & Mrs. Roberson's class discovered the Power of Words through Blackout Poetry. Their inspiration came from Austin, Texas author Mr. Austin Kleon. Students read a page from a book, and then found the words that spoke to them. Each student colored around the words to create their blackout poem. Some were dark and mysterious, while others found humor in the words throughout the page.

Mrs. Poole used Kahoot! to practice multiplication facts in 5th grade math. She used it as a 5 question warm-up, with questions like 12X8=? The students had a great time...I have a feeling they didn't even realize they were doing multiplication practice! Kahoot! is a great tool to use in any subject for a daily warm up or quick check! What an amazing day we had today! The day was spent exploring the new playground, making new friends, setting up iPads, learning about the teachers, smiling, laughing and so much more!
Mrs. Garner was super impressed at how engaged all her students were & how well the kids played together during their indoor recess! The rain won't bring us down! |
