One of my all time favorite apps is the simple presentation app: Shadow Puppet EDU. For more information on how to use Shadow Puppet Edu, check out the App Integration Sheet and see a ton of lesson ideas below. We also had a couple of BCE students use Shadow Puppet to describe their artwork, see Caty's explanation above!

WOW!!! Our staff is absolutely incredible! Every turn I took today I saw some part of our STEAM carts being used. I am so happy to see you already embedding these awesome materials into your everyday lessons. Check out all the awesome pictures from today (and from our staff meeting)! Thanks for the grade levels that added these pictures to their STEAM Showbie class! Dash has been popping up in rooms all over BCE. Most recently Dash was spotted in Mrs. Rimkus & Mrs. Peichoto's classroom! The kids QUICKLY discovered a lot of the features that Dash has. Both classrooms started with the apps: Wonder, Go & Path. With very little to no instruction these kinder and 1st graders were moving Dash around with color, sound and speed! Both classes programmed Dash to move in certain directions, make specific sounds and learn new tricks! Plus, there was an added SEL component with the kids working in teams! If you haven't seen Dash yet - you should! Check out this awesome video from Mrs. Peichoto's class. It was their idea to use dash to give each other their word sort words to spell. They recorded their own voices saying the words too. Help streamline your classroom with Apple's new virtual teaching assistant, Classroom. Our Tech Services department helps to configure it, you just download it and try it out! Send your students to a website in a flash, showcase a student's work or help them focus by locking their iPad down to one App. Check out the App Integration Snapshot below and give it a try!
A HUGE thanks to Debbie Smith at Eanes Elementary for these great resources! a short video that also walks you through these steps:Coding! Apps in Art! Glow Draw Letters in Kinder! Writing with mentors in 5th! Blue Jay Bob hands out gifts! Staff Luncheon! Showbie math in Kinder! Gingerbread Houses in 4th Grade!
Students in Mrs. Jenkin's 2nd grade class used Canva & Chatterpix to create presentations on their specific Social Studies Weekly articles, and then posted each creation to Showbie. It was great to see students spread throughout the room working collaboratively with and without technology. I especially loved seeing them laugh, and add humor to their project! Check them out below! |
